Ok I will start with a slightly sour note :( It is so not fair that Sephora India opened a 2nd store in Delhi itself and did not branch out to another city instead...I mean really not even in Mumbai?!? What are the chances of us Kolkata girls seeing any action then? In the year 2500?!? Boo!!! Ok I had to get that rant off my chest :P As you may know I picked up a couple of pieces from Sephora Singapore. I really wanted to get some of their newly launched nail paints but that particular store was not carrying any and I was really not keen on picking anything from their makeup range simply coz I had a lot of stuff in my basket already from the other brands. They had this huge kiosk filled with different types of mask sheets and this was one of my choices. So let's take a quick look to see how it performed.
On the 15th of Feb my girl Dolon of Poutpretty in partnership with Kiehl's arranged for a bloggers event. The brand has newly set up shop in our fine city with their first ever outlet here based in Quest Mall. Honestly I cant tell you how glad I am to finally see them here. I had to get my fix of products from Mumbai each time. But now it is available in my backyard and that means more luggage space for me to accommodate my other vices from Mumbai on my next trip :D (excuse me while I repeat myself - Win - Win!).
Hey everyone! So the day of reckoning is finally here...Thank you all for your patience. There were a lot of entries that I had to sort through....but in the end there can be only one winner. I would like to thank you all for your participation and please don't be disheartened if you didn't win this time around. There will be more giveaways and contests in the coming months and I hope to see you there. And finally....
Hello my pretties! I stumbled on this really cool shopping site called Shoplately which is based in the US. They have this shop in shop concept where you can purchase stuff from a collection of retailers/shop owners. So whether you are a buyer on the look out for something trendy or a seller with some amazing things to put out into the world this is the place for you. They have such an amazing collection and what a range! Jewelry, Hats, Bags, Scarves, Shoes, Clothing and much more....I feel in love with these amazing pair of booties and added it to my cart. Unfortunately I found out that they don't ship outside the US for now :( Aww! I so wanted these super cute booties! And maybe a dozen other things :D I saw some really unique pieces there and decided to make a lust/wish list of it. Hopefully they will start International shipping in the near future and I will be able to get my hands on these....ahh here's to wishful thinking :)
From the title you can see that I have been bitten by the "Sherlock" bug ("Ive been Sherlocked" for the Sher fans :D). Ahh! I can watch it for hours....and am counting the minutes before it graces us with its fourth season. Benedict Cumberbatch is the stuff dreams are made of! Honestly I have it so bad for him that when I see a cookie my brain registers it as "Cumbercookie" :D :P Lol! Imagine that. Any-hoo....I could keep going on and on about it and bore you to tears or run out of space or both...with great willpower Im diverting my attention.....Uhn......What was that?.......Give me one second......Ok Im don.....Sigh!
The post I did on the 7 lippy swatches from MAC last year was immensely popular. I was intending to do this as a follow up but it got pushed into the wait queue and I ended up forgetting about it completely. Recently when I finally organized my eye makeup drawer I found these babies again. Again all are samples that I have picked from the site - The Body Needs and you can read about it in the previous post (link given above). For a quick recap, they buy full sized MAC products and then break them down into sample sizes and sell. A good way to try out some of the shades that you wanted but were hesitant in putting down the full price for. But this site will make sense when the Rupee is stronger.
I have developed such an unhealthy obsession for nail paints. Earlier on they were a mere adornment of sorts. Something to use so that your hands looked presentable and neat. But now...they are an indulgence and oh so satisfying. Forget the zillion and one colors that are available but the sheer amount of textures that you can play with! And lets not even get into the finishes. Chrome, magnetic, holo, leather, sand, glitter, mirror, etc etc. Ahhh its like discovering that 200+ colors box of crayons when you were little. Brings out the Rembrandt out of you...hmmm to be more precise the obsessive freak (I-want-more-nail-paints-now....even though I have more than I can coat my 10 pairs of hands with but what the heck....who is counting :D ). OPI sand nail polishes have been much talked about ever since their launch. Needless to say that I have be trying so bad to get my hands on them. But that dream trip to Sephora made this a possibility for me...finally! Let's break it down...
How do you like your mascara to be? Should it give you volume or length or both? Should it curl the lashes or define them? Water proof or resistant? For me a mascara should do all the above and on top of it should give me some amount of drama. My eyes should get a defined look and not look natural. For me the qualities as per preference go as - volume, length and definition. Yves Rocher is a French brand and is known for its botanical beauty products. They grow their own organic ingredients which are then used to craft products which are skin friendly and quite effective. I had heard about their bath products earlier but didnt know that they had a makeup line as well. So lets see how good (or bad) this mascara was...
Fresh out the oven! A new pairing board is up and this time with additional pins. With the adding of the Lime Crime Carousel Glosses to my collection the number of pins per board is going to be more from now on (well till the time I run out of something and I am so looking forward to that!). I will be adding the extra pins to the existing boards so you can go back to your favorite board and check that out. For now enjoy these parings. Not a lot of difference from one to the next but they do have some lovely combinations. Which ones are your favorite?
Welcome to part 2 of my perfume collection! Presenting some more mini reviews for your enjoyment :) I will be covering 6 more perfumes in this post. In case you missed it, you can check out part 1 HERE. So without further ado let's jump straight in!
At first glance you captured my eye....at the second I knew I had lost my heart :) That is how I felt when I first spotted these on IVC. I quite love Bourjois products and this lovely mirror like piece was captivating to say the least. The glossiness and pigmentation had me hooked. But at that time these were not available here yet and I frantically searched online for them but with very little luck. Thankfully eventually they found their way here....and the love affair was finally to be realized. But in the end I picked only one shade. No it was not for a lack of pretty shades but for the fact that whatever I swatched (read coral tones) I had a very similar color in stock. I just wanted to own one finally and decided upon the Famous Fuchsia shade. Let's break it down to see how it fared for me.

Hello my sweets! Today I have a special treat for you. Over the years, I have gone through many magazines and books in hopes of finding THE magic potion for one's skin. Does it not feel like that? That you are trying to find that one formula which promises you the "Fountain of youth". Will give you beauty comparable to Helen of Troy or hair which will cause Rapunzel to burn with envy :D But the sad truth is that only regular and proper TLC can do anything. The only secret is consistence and hard work. Albeit some formulations will suit you and other will not. But one needs to be conscious about their skin from early on, prevent damage from occurring during the initial years and then keep the damage at bay towards the later. I bring to you 5 recipes to try out. I hope that one of them proves to be your personal magic potion.....Enjoy!
So I tried my hand with water decals for the first time....Water decals are like those tattoos that you find with chewing gum and candies and what not that transfer onto your skin by applying water. These follow the basic concept except that you need to dip the paper with the decal on it in water and then place it on the nail. Sounds easy yes? Fool proof? Child's play? One would think....But OMFG!!! This is such a pain :P No I can assure you I have all my marbles with me....I counted....and double checked :P You go in and try something with an "adult" frame of mind....how quickly they beat you and have you wailing like a kid! Ok enough with the melodrama :D

Ever since I saw all those gorgeous pictures of an Etude store, done up like something from a fairy tale with all the princess elements thrown in I so desperately wanted to visit one. They create such enchanting wonderlands within their store. And nothing is as thrilling as finally being able to touch, swatch and experience a brand before making your purchases. So far my relation with the brand has been through pictures and online sites. But I wanted to see it for real....sounds strange but really you need to stand before a kiosk of your favorite unreachable brand to understand my feelings here :)
