The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask Price Rs. 2295/-
I first came across the concept of a sleeping mask when I discovered Korean products. The idea seemed strange at first coz since a young age we are drilled with the admonitions of our mothers to not talk while having a mask on as it would result in wrinkles. How does one sleep in something which essentially hardens up on your skin? How does it work? Is it safe? Well turns out that all my apprehensions were baseless as these masks are specially formulated to be gel like and though they do dry down (well most of them do) they don't form a hard layer of the standard packs. Most form a light film on the skin while some even stay wet all through. But they are mainly meant to deliver moisture to the skin and do that job to a T.

Did you know that Drops of Youth skin serum is one of the best selling products at The Body Shop where one bottle is sold every 28 secs! It is a part of their Nutraganics range and 98% of its ingredients are of natural origin. To complement this popular product The Body Shop recently launched an eye concentrate and held a big event out here to celebrate it. It was a two part thing where in the morning Jacqueline Fernandez, their brand ambassador, came and met the media and customers in the morning and then in the evening a bloggers meet was held. This has been their 3rd event in this city so far and as always it is such a pleasure to interact with their team members.
My first encounter with the Vitamin E range of The Body Shop happened when I bought their makeup wipes. They are excellent to take with you during travel and cleans your face completely...well almost. They don't take out the mascara properly but other than that they are darn good. After a long day they are a blessing in disguise when you just don't have the enthu to go through the whole CTM routine. I got this BB cream as a gift when I attend its launch event and have being using it ever since when I'm looking for a light coverage and feel. Being a part of the Vitamin E range I had high expectations of it. Let's find out if it matched up to those...
Body Shop India invited a couple of Kolkata bloggers to attend the Bengal Fashion Week '14. They had tied up with the famous designer Jatin Kochhar and created a pop inspired look using their recently launched color crush range of makeup. Bright colored eyes paired with a sensual red pout went perfectly with the monochromatic clothes of the designer. One of the shades that ruled the ramp was a lipstick called Red Siren. We got a goody bag from the brand in the end and Dolon wished that it contained the same shade....whaddya know...it did :D Well lets break it down and see if it lives up to its name...
What an amazing week I got to witness in February! From attending a blogger event in Kolkata to flying down to Pune to visit a fabulous vineyard in Baramati to come back and attend the Bengal Fashion Week. Filled with excitement and new experiences 2014 has kicked off to a very good start and one can only hope that it gets better with each passing month! Thanks to the wonderful team at The Body Shop India I got to attend a fashion show for the first time in my life. I did attend a press meet for one in Mumbai but could not attend the actually event. But it was great to go to one on my home turf. Body shop was the official makeup partner for the event.
I got to know about The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask from Poorna. She swears by it and hearing her experience with it I was sold. Often getting attacked by the odd pimple or two I needed a spot treatment kind of thing especially since I got through my Dermalogica Hit the Spot one (almost). I don't usually get a pimple on an average not even in my teens but when I do I get the mother of them all. They start very deep under my skin and become this huge bump which takes ages to go away. So how did the Tea Tree Mask fare against them? Let's find out...
Hello! I got a chance to attend the first ever beauty blogger event held here in Kolkata. It was the launch of The Body Shop's new Cool BB Cream from their very popular Vitamin E line. Dolon from Pout Pretty first told me about it and then I got an invite from the PR of the company. Finally we had our very own beauty related event.

After my experience with Body Shop Shimmer Cubes I was tempted to explore what more they had on offer. My research online bought me across this baked eyeshadow on offer by them. They have 5 shades on offer out of which I liked this jade combination the best. I like the packing of it. It comes in a round plastic container which though is thin plastic but seems sturdy enough and is light weight.
The texture of the product is really smooth and it can be worn both dry as well as wet. The pigmentation is decent and can be built upon as desired. I would describe the lighter shade as golden-ish light green with very fine gold sparkle. The dark shade is actually black with very fine green sparkle in it. I know it looks like a dark green in the pic and at first I though so too. But after swatching it for a few times I realized that it was actually black. The green sparkle makes it look like a dark green. Price Rs. 935/- for 2gms of product.

Under different lights. I have both the colors on over NYX base in skin tone.

Would you recommend it to your friend? - Maybe. Its not like a must buy or anything. Its ok.

A while back Body Shop had launched their Honey Bronze collection which was limited edition. I was interested in it given its name. I saw some of the products that they had in their range and decided to pick up the brilliance powder. It had 2 shades on offer but I liked this on much better than the other coz I felt that it had more of a shimmer to it (I picked Shade 02 which is Copper Shimmer). Price is Rs. 1095/- for 5 gm of product. It comes with a decent brush which is kinda soft but can feel a little pokey at times. It gives one a nice dusting of copper colored shimmer which is ideal for highlighting. A small pat can impart a decent amount of shimmer to your skin once you get the product flowing.
Apart from the copper color I did not see anything which would kinda justify the name of the range for me for this product. What I liked what the beautiful shaded packaging and a retractable plastic piece which helps you to cover the bristles of the brush and make it more compact so that it can slip into the narrow lid easily. Once you slide on the cap you can click it into place so that it stays put.
Due to lighting the exact color of the shimmer was not captured but it is copper in color.
Would you purchase this again? - Its Limited Edition.
Would you recommend it to your friend? - Body Shop carries Brilliance powder in their regular range as well so that is just as good.

You know when I look at this cube it kinda hits me how myopic (read MAC) a vision people have when it comes to makeup. Some great pieces just slip our notice. I too am a victim of this narrow vision and I stumbled upon this great product when I was browsing the Body Shop makeup aisle for brushes (I had read some great reviews on a blog for the brushes and since the sale was on I decided to give it a go). This is a fab set of four shimmery shades that give an amazing color payoff and last a long time on your lids. I saw 2 color shades palette. This one is in brown/neutral tones and the other set had pink tones/shades. I was not able to decide which to pick up but in the end this won me coz of the shimmery n~de shade.

So the great Body Shop sale was on and boy could you get some cool deals. In case any of you missed it you can still catch it. It is on till the 31st of Aug. I did a haul post when I first went for the sale and this time around I just picked up 2 products so I'm going to review them one by one. Coming to this lotion, I got a 10% discount on it (for me that is not much) but I was sucker for its smell. I love the pink grapefruit-y smell that this product has. Dimp would say its ok (she was worried why I acted like a possessed woman but hey I love the smell - give me a break :p). If you don't like a citrus smell then steer clear of this one.
It is easy to control the quantity of product you want to dispense out. This is the min. amount I could get.
With the quantity shown above I can cover both my palms front side to get the amount of hydration I need. My palms are slightly dry.
It is a light pinky peach colored lotion meant for normal skin. Gets absorbed quickly into your skin leaving a cooling sensation and a strong citrus smell behind. It costs Rs. 495/- for 250 ml of product which is on a steeper side. If you have dry skin then this product may not be ideal for you as you may need to to put in 2-3 applications before you get the hydrated skin feeling. But I personally feel that it is ideal for the summers and for places with high humidity. I get a slightly sticky feeling when I put this on especially on my palms but after 2 minutes or so the feeling goes away. The packing is good. It comes in an easy to control pump which can be locked.
List of Ingredients:
Company Claims:
"Lightweight, cooling moiturisation with mouth-watering pink grapefruit oil and pink grapefruit water. Normal Skin."
"Super-light, refreshing moisture with pink grapefruit oil, rich in fatty acids, and vitamin-rich pure grapefruit water to cool, hydrate and help keep skin looking firm and supple."
Pros:
- Lightweight and cooling lotion ideal for the hot summer months
- Nice citrus smell
- Provides ideal amount of moisturization for normal skin type
- Price
- Gives a slight sticky feeling initially.
- The smell can get a little overpowering when you apply a large area.
Would you but it again? No. There is nothing unique or special about it that would make me purchase it again. The novelty of the smell wears off quickly. I don't know if it is making my skin firm as I have used 4-5 times and didn't feel any different in that manner.
Would you recommend it to your friend? No I would not.
