A period of firsts! Posted my 1st tag post couple of hours back and now I'm back with the 1st ever empties post on the blog! Let me hear you say yea! Ok I'm done with the goofy of the day. I have been obsessed with doing an empties post ever since I saw one on Shouri of Makeup, Fashion and Everything I Like. Let me tell you it is not an easy thing to do especially for a hoarder like me. But I was adamant that I would do it especially since it is a benchmark of sorts....an accomplishment!
A few days back Ritu from The Indian Beauty Blog tagged me to do my current 5 fav lip products (you can check out her favs HERE). I'm very excited to write this post as this is my first ever tag - so thank you Ritu for that :) At first I was all like "Oh my how will I find my only 5 products?!? What to pick and what to leave? I love them all!!!". But then I did realize that I might love all (well most) of the lippies in my hoard but there are some that I end up reaching for all the time. So lets take a quick peek into them.
Ok people the first pairing board is up (wut wut)!!! To kick things off I decided to take a MAC lippy and was wondering between Syrup and Half but the later won (don't ask me how or why). There are about 11 pairings for now and I have stuck to strictly glosses. More will come up soon as a new product gets reviewed. So keep an eye out for that plus new boards. Do like or comment on the pics to let me know your fav pairing. Click on the link shown below to go to the respective board. I will catch you soon!
Honestly I don't know what is up with my skin these days. Why all of a sudden it has decided to be dry over the usual combination type. But I know it is a phase for it and it is still deciding which way it wants to swing and one of these days will do a complete 180 on me :P But on the positive side I get to test out products for all the people who have dry skin problems. I was sent this product by the company after they asked me some questions about my skin concerns. This came at the perfect time for me.
It has been a while since the last one of these. This time around we will meet with Awungshi Philamazan of Dr. Poison Ivy's Beauty Blog (click on name to go to her blog). This beautiful lady will floor you with her creativity and the beautiful looks she creates. She looks like a doll and those gorgeous almost fantasy like OOTD's she does will have you coming back for more. I got hooked to K-Pop coz of her as she had done a tut on replicating the makeup done in one of the music videos. And what she did with the Maybelline Hyper glossy liner!!!! That is something that you should really see. One of my personal favs :) Read on to know more about this talented diva...
How many times do we keep buying new lippies/glosses? And how many times do we end up combining different shades to create something new? Often something this basic does not even strike us. Think of the endless possibilities that you can create in that manner. The whole new range of colors that you can get from what you already have in your collection.
These are my first ever purchase from Rimmel. I have heard so many people talking about the brand gushing over it really that it has good quality products plus it is quite affordable. The girls all went crazy when the Kolkata outlet opened just a month or so back. I'm sure they must have not expected the kind of response that they must have gotten. Yes they do have some interesting things and today we will explore the famous Apocolips that created such a huge buzz.

Just another manic haul day
Wish it were a ban day
Coz my cards are cryin
Just another manic haul day!
I have been singing these lines all evening :P Just stuck in my head since I spoke to my friends about doing a post for my haul. I ventured out for some work and as usual ended up buying a couple of things. How do you stop yourself from getting something especially when there is sale all around?!?
In one of the Sample Corner posts awhile back I first introduced an online shop called The Body Needs. This is a place where you can get samples of any and every MAC product (given the availability at the time). They are supposed to be genuine MAC products which they buy full size and then break them down to smaller sizes and sell them. I have reviewed the Brush Cleanser and the Cleanse Off Oil samples from them and felt that they were original. Anyways if for any reason they are not then at least you get some base line idea and then the original will be better than that. That's my logic.
Hey there! After my haul of the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains I was not interested in getting the newly launched lip tints from Lakme as a) I had too much stuff already (ya like that stops me) and b) they were priced at 800 bucks a pop whereas Revlon was for 650 (again not reason enough for me usually but apparently it worked this time :P). So I stayed away from these......Well I did for as long as I could :D
Revlon has introduced some really interesting nail art products in recent times. I covered their Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy in an earlier post. There were these nail strips among the new launch that look like nail stickers but are made of nail paint. Personally I don't like the sticker format much but am a big fan of the nail strips especially after using the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strip in Kitty Kitty. They feel much more comfortable on the nails but can be a bit of a hassle to apply.
I got this cream as a sample when I bought the Double Serum from them recently. This one is meant for Normal to Dry skin and is targeted at people who are in their 30's and want to combat first signs of ageing. Clarins is really well known for its skincare and a lot of celebs swear by it. I remember someone telling me long back that Kareena uses their HydraQuench range and it is a staple for her.

Hey there! I finally got a chance to do a makeup tutorial for you again. I have been thinking about this look for awhile now and tried out a couple of different things before settling for this version. But as luck would have it I was not able to find my Sleek Molten Metal Duo in gold when I did my final run. That was supposed to be the star of the show and I had to improvise. So in the end it is not exactly how I had imagined it to be. But nonetheless I hope you like it.
Hello! I got a chance to attend the first ever beauty blogger event held here in Kolkata. It was the launch of The Body Shop's new Cool BB Cream from their very popular Vitamin E line. Dolon from Pout Pretty first told me about it and then I got an invite from the PR of the company. Finally we had our very own beauty related event.
I so fell in love with this color when I was swatching it at the Inglot store a couple of months back. I wanted to create a really good palette for the makeup contest that I wanted to put up on the blog back then so I ended up spending hours at the store just to find the perfect four shades. This one was just so beautiful that I had to get it for myself. Inglot has such great quality and is such an affordable brand. Now this is what you should put your money in rather than most of the "drugstore" brands that are available out here.
It is nice to be back :) Work was very hectic and a pain-in-the-a$$! Lot of tension flying back and forth that by the end of the day I was in no mood to pen down basic words. Spent my time watching some very interesting TV series and reading some good books to relax. Now after a nice "detox" session I'm back to the blogging grind. I dug through my to-be-reviewed stash and found one of the nail paints that I had bought from the L'Oreal Cannes Collection. A shade called Bronze Parure.
When Revlon announced their new suede range I was really interested in knowing how it would work out. I went all creative thinking that maybe they made a new finish that felt like suede you know how you get these different finishes in nail paints like the furry ones. I thought they made a breakthrough like that and was very excited about it. But it was not to be :(
Ok these are just super cute! Such pretty colors and there are 2 variants available in it - regular and with sparkles. They have a sugar like finish where it looks like you have sprinkled colored ones on your nails. Cashing in on the whole textured trend this is one of the many interesting finishes launched by the brand. And it is a LE collection (boo!).
The April box came with the theme of spring. Shedding of the heavy layers of winter and embracing the coming waves of heat. And with it the issues that one faces. From the sun to oily skin and on a lighter note from the shorts to the bright colors. To celebrate this spirit of spring the April box once again had a nice mix of products. I got 4 products in my box this month.
Another month gone by and another fav's post is up! Yea!!! Though I blogged about a lot of products this month, as compared to last one, very few actually made it to my list. There are some potential candidates for this position for the present month lying around me and I hope they do make it to the list. These posts are so much fun to do but need a lot of thought and evaluation on my part :P

Happy Birthday to Us!!!
Yes today the blog turns 2 :) On the 1st of July 2011 I published the first official post on the blog which was a book review. So many aspirations and ideas that we had in our head at that time. And absolutely no idea how much commitment it took. After 2 years and 262 published articles later we have come a long way :D.

I came across the most interesting thing while surfing a site. China Glaze has recently launched a nail polish range called Tranzitions. Given the current trend of nail art and growing love/craze for it among the population China Glaze has introduced this interesting formula. How does it work?
