Outfit of the day - Ethnic Fusion Ensenble: Black Kurta paired with Lungi
Hey there! I have some news that I would like to share with you :) Recently I launched a brand new website/blog and I'm very excited about it. Though the main purpose for it was to document my professional work as an upcoming artist but I wanted to integrate that with my love for blogging. Hence you will find Fashion & Lifestyle related content there from now on. There will be some overlap with Sorelle Grapevine till that site takes off on its own but eventually SG will be all about the beauty. I hope you guys will show your love and support for this new venture as SG has grown steadily over the years due to you. There are some new ideas in the pipeline and a new fashion post is already up so use the link given below and head on down there!

Outfit of the Day
I admit it is so not the weather to be putting up this post but it has been lying in wait for its time in the sun and I had to put it out there. I got an invite to attend the Blender's Pride Fashion Tour this December. For a change it was quite cold in Kolkata this time around and I got a chance to wear this quilted overcoat I had picked up from the CIMA Art in Life exhibition last year. It set me back 4 grand but I really liked it and since it is reversible I get more bang for my buck that way. I love the over sized wooden buttons on it. These quilted coats (Rajasthan style) became quite a trend for the season and I saw them popping up in a lot of places in different styles and lengths. I loved the soft colors on this one and the floral print had me hooked. Paired with a basic black outfit and a statement necklace I was all set for the night.![]() |

Outfit of the Day
A short while back I was invited to attend the Eastern Round of the Indian Hairdressing Awards presented by L'Oreal Professional. It was an evening attire kinda event and I didn't know what to throw on. I ransacked my wardrobe like a maniac tossing aside clothes all over like a mad woman. The eternal "I-dont-have-a-thing-to-wear" syndrome plagued me while I sorted through my mountain of clothes. I spied this satin dress that I had bought a few years back on one of my trips and thanked the stars that made me buy it then...hmmm! I know what did...SALE! I picked this one up from Only during their sale period for....not 3k...not 2k....not even 1.5...I got this for around 900 bucks! Can you imagine!?!
Hey guys! I want to quickly share with you what I wore to the recent Drops of Youth launch event. A little trivia of sorts before that...did you know that Ritu Kumar actually started her design journey from Kolkata. She opened her first boutique out here way back in the day ie a good 20 years or so ago. My Di was a lover of designer clothes and would buy stuff only from the boutiques spread out in the city. Back then there weren't mass clothes brands per say. Ritu Kumar was her favorite and I remember going to the Park Street store quite often. This jacket I'm wearing is one of my sister's Ritu Kumar pieces and was probably a part of a suit set. I love the detailing on it with its intricate Indian patterns and those rich blue hues.
Hello doves! About a month back I was out shopping with my sisters...they all live away from home and after a long time my Di was in town. It was so much fun to go out shopping with them after so long. We literally descended on the stores like warriors on a mission :D Since Diwali was around the corner the stores were packed with new stock in all colors of the rainbow and beyond. I especially love browsing the in house brand of Lifestyle called Melange and they do very pretty pieces with a whole boho chic vibe to them. I spotted a sister piece of the one I'm wearing and so fell in love with the riot colors in it. The deep blue body part in that was a deep sea green and the yolk was a mix of pinks and purple. Then I spotted this piece and quickly added it to my growing pile of trial outfits.
Can you believe it is September already?!? Time has literally flown in the blink of an eye...I cant believe that within a matter of few weeks Durga puja will be here and with it the promise of a new year. 2014 has been quite rich and rewarding so far (touch wood) and I can only hope it spills into the coming year. By the blessings of the Goddess, I'm sure there will be a lot to look forward too in everyone's lives. A few days back I shared with you my experience with a new salon. Today I want to share what I wore to the event. Also some wonderful photography of a weird and conscious model by my girl Poorna of Presented by P.
Hello me dearies! Back with an OOTD after a long time. I'm too lazy to deck up just to click a couple of pics for a post. Working from home has it disadvantages :P I was actually out with my bua (Dad's sis) for an excursion and usually when I come back home I'm beat and totally end up crashing! But lord knows what I was on that day ;) I was totally stoked on taking some pics and sharing it with you fine folks. Now when you see OOTD posts on other blogs you get to see outdoors and a lot of sun and greenery around, Taken from all sorts of interesting angles and what not. But the poor soul that I am don't have the luxury of a friend zoned guy to take along with me to click these whimsical pictures :D I have to make do with my tripod in a corner of my home sorting through a hundred angles, weird faces and blurred images. I really need to find myself a photographer pronto!
Hello my lovelies! I have not penned down anything since something coz I have been quite busy and I have been feeling very uninspired to do anything and make that extra effort (translation - lazy bum :P). But something happened last night and I was all pumped! Dont ask me what coz I have no clue. If I did I would bottle it up to be used on those horrible listless days...sigh! Any hoo I was recently invited to the 1st Kolkata Grape Festival by the Four Seasons team. I haven't worn a dress/skirt in ages as I am so conscious about my weight and saddlebags. Plus being around skinny friends does nothing for your esteem. But the presence of two new chicas in my life has given me the courage and confidence to venture into uncharted territories. We love and embrace all that is big and beautiful about us! And also the amazing food and munchies to be enjoyed....Amen sista!
I got an invite from Ginger Claps to attend Black Dog evenings event featuring Night Fever who were going to cover some Bee Gees songs. I happen to love the Bee Gees especially their famous song "Staying Alive" and was quite excited about the whole thing. The event was to be held outdoors and with the slight nip in the air I decided to don my light jacket from Eliza Donatein. I will be doing a separate post for the event soon. For know here are a few pics of what I wore to the event along with the FOTD.
Hey there people! I have been thinking of doing Outfit Of The Day posts since a long time and have been very hesitant about it. The reason being I didn't know how it would be received. But I'm giving it a go and would appreciate your feedback and/or criticism on it. Let me know if you would be interested in me doing more of these. A couple of days back I went out with my friends and I wore a couple of things from a recent haul. In case you missed that, do check out my Instagram to see all the interesting stuff I picked up from a special flea market held in Forum Mall, Kolkata.
