I got this product as a gift from someone I know recently and this is my first Dior product. It is a makeup remover which is meant for sensitive skin but not for waterproof makeup (according to the SA - I don't have any waterproof makeup on me right now so I was not able to validate that). Price is Rs. 2640/- for 200ml of product. What I like best about this product is that it is not oily and it gets absorbed fast into your skin. I have another makeup remover by Clarins and it has two different liquids in it which need to be shaken up before use and is quite oily which I have to then wipe off using a tissue. This one does not have those issues. The smell is ok bit on the strong side (well I felt it was a little alcoholy-ish smelling) with a floral tone to it. What I like to do is get rid of most of my makeup using a baby wipe and then I put this on some cotton and clean out the remaining makeup especially around my eyes (all the liner and mascara is sometime hard to take off so this step kinda does it for me). This process leaves my skin feeling fresh without the slightest trace of makeup.

I just love the bag that it came in! Look at that pretty gold bow :D (Fa-bu-lous). They threw in some free samples too as you can see in the following pictures. Personally the sample sizes were too small too determine the effect of the products as they did not even last me a week of application (sigh). I had tried the Dior Snow White Reveal Essence sample earlier and in a week of use I did not see any effect per say (it costs about 7k which is a lot for a lotion). The others were too small and finished in 3-4 days. I don't think that the effect is judge-able in that small a time. The Pro-Youth Protective Fluid had a thicker consistency and I had too use a lot of it when I was feeling a little dry on my face but since I have combination skin I ended up with 1-2 pimples on my nose :p. Well it didn't work for me but I'm sure someone with dry skin would like it.

"At the heart of the Dior cleansers' performance are 3 voluptuous and tender flowers with unsurpassed benefits in the first step of the skincare ritual. Dior has selected Pure Lily to meet the requirements of all skin types. The Instant Cleansing Water eliminates all types of makeup in a single step. Gently unveiled, the skin is perfectly clean, supple and smooth."

Pros:

- Non Oily

- Easily absorbed

- Cleans out even the darkest of shadows completely without living any trace behind. (This is something that neither the baby wipe nor the Clarins makeup remover did for me. I had some traces of makeup coming out till the next day especially mascara).

Cons:

- Might be a little pricey for some (Clarins costed me around Rs. 1200/- for 125 ml and Johnson baby wipes are Rs. 175/- for 80 wipes).

- The smell maybe off putting for some.

- If it goes in the eyes like a drop or two then it kinda stings a little (maybe its just me). I was pumping it out and got quite a bit of it on the cotton and then when I wiped my eyes with it I faced this problem. But if you put few drops on cotton and wipe your eyes with that then its all good (don't mean to freak you out but just a word of caution).

Verdict:

Would you buy it again? - For variety sake I would like to test out something else. I like this a lot but not like OMG a must buy or anything for me for now atleast.

After waiting for the longest time I was finally able to lay my hands on the MAC Surf Baby collection. Why is it that they take soooo long in launching it in India? Plus why so few pieces? Kolkata got like 3-4 pieces of a lot of these items. So many things were sold out and some I almost missed (heck I bought the last piece). :( Not fair! I was wanting to get the Paradise powder but that was completely sold out. Humph!

Any ways moving to tthe good part :). I got everything else that I wanted from the collection. So let me show you one by one what all I got.

Eyeshadows:

I really wanted 2 out of the 3 that I got - Surf USA and Sun Blonde and I bought the 3rd ie Short Shorts as I liked the swatch on my skin. The texture is really nice and I love the pigmentation of Surf USA. Short Shorts is more of a highlighter for the India skin tone I personally feel and Sun blonde is a pretty shade but the pigmentation was a little light. But all in all some good shades. I wanted to check out the swatch for a grey-ish shade that was part of the collection but it was sold out here. All 3 are in frost finish and cost Rs. 950/- each.

I love these! The color and texture is really awesome. They just bring out your eyes. I believe these will go with a lot of skin tones. I bought both the shades that were part of the collection - Glided Gold and Blue Noon. I felt a little bit of tugging on my lids when I tried out Blue Noon. I did not use Glided Gold on my lids but on my waterline and it looked so pretty :). Price - Rs. 1050/-.

Studio CareBlend Pressed Powder:

I bought Gold-Go-Lightly which I personally felt goes well with my skin tone. It gives a soft sun-kissed look when I apply it to my cheeks without looking OTT. I used it for contouring too but it was a little dark for it but I think it will suit for with an evening look. Price - Rs. 1500/-.

Crushed Metallic Pigment:

These were the stars of the show for me. My absolute must have! I almost did not get one stack - almost. But I got really lucky and was able to get the last one. Phew! That was a close call. The pigmentation and texture is just too awesome for words. I know I sound crazed or something but you need to see it to believe it! For me they were totally worth the price. There were two stacks that were launched - Surf The Ocean and Summer Stash. They both have very different colors. Price - Rs. 2050/- each.

Surf The Ocean

The left most shade is a pure silver color what you can see on top left in above pic. The one next to it is a greenish silver. The last one is a greenish black color.

Summer Stash

The left most is actually a very light pinkish silver shade what you can see in the top right in the  pic above. The one next to it is a very light peach shade. The other two color have very pretty glitter to them as you can see in the pic.

A really nice and very wearable collection. I would highly recommend that you hurry and grab what you can still get out of it. The new Semi Precious collection has been officially announced but it will take some time in coming to the stores. So make the most out of the gap and go pick your fav's fast. Who knows they might already be out :(.

Shikha Says:

I'm sure a lot of you divas have come across the banner for Urban Touch either on fb or some blog. I was intrigued by the brands that they carried and decided to give em a shot. I placed my order for the NYX eyeshadow base (they have 3 different varieties and I ordered all 3). Each was priced at a discounted price of Rs. 500/- (actually price is Rs 625/- for each). On checking out I noticed that they added a surprise gift in the the mix (free of course). So that was a total of Rs 1500/- for the 3 products and a gift and oh ya free shipping! I placed my order on the 7th of October. I was expecting to receive it within a day or two.

On the 10th I logged into my account with them and checked the status of my order and it said "Shipped" out there. Again I expected that I would get it in a day or at max two. When I didn't receive it till the 12th I called up their customer care to check if there was any issue. The executive was really nice and polite and informed me that they usually took about 7 days to deliver an order and that he would immediately look into mine and ensure that something was done about it. I asked them where they were placed and on learning it was Gurgaon I felt a little disappointed that they were taking so long to actually ship the product. The guy was courteous and said that he has noted down my feedback and will ensure that they look into the matter. Well I received my order the very next day! Yea!

Let me tell you they have me floored. The box that I got my products in is custom made for the site and really sturdy and pretty. They gave me free samples for 4 different products (2 for men and 2 for women), a 10% off coupon for purchasing Lotus products and a free gift! Phew :). I got FabIndia Under Eye Gel as the gift BTW and not like a sample size or anything. They had wrapped each eye base and well as the gift in lots of bubble wrap individually. All in all a really good experience. I was a little put off due to the time taken by them but was really impressed by the effort they took in small things to delight a customer. So thumbs up people. Do go and check it out. And for those of you who are apprehensive about using your cards, the site provides cash on delivery too.

This review is a little old. I had actually written it for some other blog but they never accepted it so I'm pasting it out here for you guys. I love this site! Presently they are under going maintenance and upgradation but they will be back up soon. So in the meantime check out my review.

I am super excited while I write this. I want to share my experience of purchasing from Allcosmeticswholesale.com. This site offers all the popular leading brands in makeup and cosmetics (MAC, NARS, Too Faced, Urban Decay, etc.) at a discounted price. What I like best about it is that you can lay your hands on limited edition items that you may have missed especially like MAC. By the way the products offered here are original (the best indicator of that is the products have their name and not just a number denoting them).

I have been a blog junkie for quite a while before I started my own and have never come across this shade or product type. So I'm hoping I'm bringing something new to the table. When I was leisurely browsing MAC I came across this beauty. I actually liked the shade on the box a lot and thought it was the eye kohl but it is not. It is a pencil format which needs to be sharpened but looks and feels different than an eye kohl.

I found the texture to be much smoother than Teddy but the pigmentation was a little lighter than that. It is a sea blue green color with a hint of gold tone kinda reminds me of a mermaid's fin. I love this shade. Teddy gave depth to my eyes but this shade made them pop. Since the pigmentation is a little light you might need to go over a few times to get the desired payoff. But I find the product interesting and would love to check out the other shades that are available in it. Price is Rs 1000/- for 1.2g of product.

Would you buy it again? - I like the shade but for variety's sake I would choose another color.

Would you recommend it to your friend? - Yes. Shade as well as product type.

Last week I visited the MAC counter to pick up some stuff from the Surf Baby collection but found out that it is not out yet!!? Humph! Anyways I just had to pick some stuff while I was there right? I mean come on :p. Any-hoo the SA was busy with some customer and I took my sweet time browsing. Kid in a candy shop. I usually go there with some specific in mind but that day I got a chance to browse at my leisure. I love doing that. One can end up finding some sweet things that way. Well back to the product.

This is another cult fav. And I can see why. It is a beautiful deep brown with a hint of bronze color and gold shimmer to it. I have Smolder too and I find that very smooth. But this one I felt was a little drier than that as I felt a little amount of tugging especially on my upper lash but not much (maybe my piece is like that). I think that it is a fab color for brown eyes and the Indian skin tone. I felt that it gave my eyes depth and helped to bring out the richness of the brown shade. Love it! Im going to layer it with Smolder on my lower lash line. I think that should be interesting :).

Would you buy it again? - Yes!

Would you recommend it to your friend? - Yup.

I must confess that I'm an online shopping junkie. I love to search for great deals especially for makeup. I have bought stuff ranging from cosmetics to perfumes, clothes, jewellery, colored contact lens and a whole bunch more.....Well today I'm gonna tell you about my purchase from Strawberrynet.com and why am I super excited about it!

Well we all remember the Peacocky collection launched by MAC a short while back right. I was obsessing about the collection and was just waiting for it to launch. 1 item that I had my eye on especially was the Odalisque eyeshadow. I saw like a gazillion reviews online and how it is a must have shade. I was sold!! But when the collection finally made its way to Kolkata.....Guess what? Go on guess. The shade never made it to the city :x (Argh)!

I hunted every where for it and I mean everywhere but just didn't find it anywhere. No correction. I found it on ebay but it was for Rs. 2500/- over there not including shipping. In stores it was being sold for Rs. 1200/-. I wanted it badly but not that badly :p. Well coming to the point I was searching Strawberry for a Clinique lipstick and happened to browse through the MAC collection as well (cant resist man). Lo and behold, they had Odalisque sitting there pretty as you please! For Rs. 1090/- AND FREE SHIPPING!! (dhin chak - dhin chak - dhin chak).......Oops! Sorry I digress.

So I whipped out my card and bought it on the spot (duh). I placed my order on the 27th of Sept and I received my package by regular post on the 4th of Oct (not bad right). The packed it really well as you will see in the following pics. Their service was prompt and I had no issues with the condition the product. It was packed tight in some bubble wrap and set in a bed of thermocol shaped like 3's :).

So diva's if you are not apprehensive about shopping online then do make it a point to check out the site. It carries a huge collection but do keep an eye on the price coz everything is not cheaper in comparison to what you get out here. Plus they will show you the price in INR too making the process easier. And not to forget - Free Shipping! Happy Shopping!

Blacked out my address

Blacked out personal info

I had removed the bubble paper wrapping

The color swatches really light. So not happy with that.
